On July 30th we decided to move to Vermont.
On August 1st we quit our jobs, and on the 16th we loaded everything in a U-Haul and started the drive across the country. Six days later we arrived in Vermont.
We camped our way across country staying in Utah, Wyoming, Iowa, Indiana and New York. As much as you could say that staying in RV parks is camping. We normally don’t stay in locations like this, but with a U-Haul towing a boat, well, you need something not quite as remote. It was a bit of a revelation to us that people camp (live?) in parks like this. It appears that if it weren’t for the obligatory dog walk nobody would set foot outside their trailer.
We were able to take one side trip to Lake Michigan and the Indiana Dunes.
The trip was relatively uneventful (whew). We’ve now been in Vermont two weeks, and will be looking forward to the already changing fall colors. More posts to come on that.
Stay tuned!
So happy you made it there safely and great to see the Inn in real life and not just in a photo. Now I can imagine you two running around organizing everything. Looking forward to seeing some of the views from the other side of the country, including the wonderful fall color the area is famous for. Take care, settle in and look forward to the snow! Good luck to you both!!
Now that’s an adventure. Looking forward to the next episode. Carry on!
Fun that the theme to Newhart was being whistled up the drive to The Woodshed Lodge in the video!
WOW Ed! So cool! Can’t wait to see your pictures from Vermont! Such a beautiful place!
