And a few other thoughts from the road…
Well, 28 days have passed since the last update here. What have we been up to anyway? Well, to say our East Coast Adventure didn’t go exactly according to plans might be an understatement. But, it’s an adventure right? If everything went according to plan well, that wouldn’t be much of an adventure would it?
We moved fairly quickly to get south to warmer weather and spring, and just about the time we were going to slow down and enjoy the back roads and out of the way camping the phone rang. The boat needed to come out of storage much earlier than we planned, and when are we going to be there to pick it up? Since then we’ve been covering miles and still trying to see some highlights as we moved back north. What internet we could get (it has been surprisingly hard to come by believe it or not) was devoted to finding those very elusive campsites that were open for the season, and not still closed. We literally have spent 1-2 hours a day looking for our next campsite. Apparently there’s a closed season and an open season. I’m not sure who makes the schedule, but for the most part everywhere we went the calendar kept turning toward the closed season. So not a lot (any) of updates around here for the past four weeks of travel.
Yesterday we completed our 4,679 mile circuit of the east coast, and picked up the boat. Today is a reset day of chores and vehicle servicing. We do have lots of photos, video and thoughts and stories to share so hopefully we’ll eventually catch up with what we have been up to the past 4 weeks! Look for those posts soon!
Just hoping to start getting notifications again.
