After about ten days on the road it was time to swing into a town to refuel and refill the fridge. Barstow lies on the edge of the Mojave National Preserve and also happened to be on our way to our next destination, so we made a few quick stops and then we headed out beyond Barstow for a few more days of adventure.

As much as we could have stayed in camp and marveled at our view of the Granite Mountains all day, the sunny skies seemed to be taunting us to get moving, so we headed down the road to our next destination, Kelso Dunes.
