With the start of spring on March 1st it was time to go in search of proof. It seemed like the Oregon coast was a likely destination, and we were right. Flowers were blooming once we hit the Willamette Valley, trees were in full bloom, and even the beautiful gorse plants were lit up with flowers when we reached the coast. Sure signs of spring.
Despite intermittent rain, we had mainly blue skies and sun to walk the beaches looking for rocks for the tumbler. We even happened across some petrified myrtlewood.
More signs of spring were found at Shore Acres.
Of course a trip to the coast isn’t complete without a trip to the beach. There was a high surf warning the entire weekend, which kept us from some planned rockfishing, but not from watching the rollers crash in.
The weekend ended much too soon, as most weekends do. But not without capturing proof that spring is here.
Where will we head next in search of spring? We’ll let the wildflowers be our guide…
