We had a long list of things to do this fall. A few things went undone, but we got out and about a lot. We made it to two of the four Cascade Lakes on the fall list, once we wrapped up summer trips to Odell. Fall on the lakes is so nice, few people, good weather, empty campgrounds and fish that are still biting all make it my favorite time to be out on the water.
We headed to Crane Prairie for a sunny, calm quiet weekend with a few nice cranebows to add some excitement.
Then a few weeks later, Crescent Lake refused to give up any mackinaw, but the tradeoffs in views was enough.
We had the best camp on the lake. It helped that we were the only ones there.
So many lakes, so little time. As the boat gets stored for the year I’ll be dreaming of mountains and glass smooth water.
